Hi there everyone, I hope you can help me on this one. I like to keep my computer in good shape so once in a while, I'll run a scandisk and defrag. The problem is that whenever I scan my c drive, the scandisk finishes the job halfway and then starts over again. Same thing with the defrag.

I have closed all running programs but the same thing happens. Also this only happens on the c drive, scandisk and defrag works fine on my d drive (I have 2 partitions)

The problem started about 2 months ago. I have included my startup list on the bottom if it helps. I also suffered from w32.yaha virus but I fixed it thanks so someone's link to symantec.

On quick perusal, you've got at least two items you'll be wanting to get rid of:
1) Xupiter

2) Transponder/TPS108

D/load and run SpyBot Search & Destroy (http://beam.to/spybotsd)

To get thru Scandisk and Defrag, you might want to try running each of these items in Safe Mode.

Here's an MS article about constant restarts of the scandisk and defrag:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;222469

Personally, I do what GretaP suggested.

And when SpyBot reminds you to, nuke Hotbar!
