I initially posted in Cyber Safety....but this might be a ME problem instead.

please look at my prior thread and advise....

http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=711099#post711099

system is very slow...has a hard time recognizing a Netgear wireless card ( bumps off line at least 4 times in an hour..)

I am very used to XP on my desktop...and maybe just expect the same speed and quality out of ME...?

HJT and SR logs on prior thread for assistance..thanks in advance..

ME is really really buggy. It has be labled as Windows ceMEnt and a few other nicknames. What I suggest is pending on how old the laptop is and what the hardware is, I suggest putting a differnt operating system on it. Please post your laptop's system specs. This will help us determine whether or not XP or WIndows 2000 will run on your laptop.

Download Everest Home here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=4181&file=11&evp=0da1e17dee7b6e8a3cc13fc5b7062019

Once downloaded, install the app. Go to Computer>Summary. This will give you a long list of what is in/on the computer.

I need to know the CPU Type, the Motherbaord name, the System Memory, the Video adapter and Hard drive size. Scoll down until you see the word storage. Once you see it, look for Disk Drive. How many gig (GB) is the hard drive?

Here are the system requirements for XP.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/upgrading/sysreqs.mspx

As you can see, you computer is a bit above the requirements. Your laptop will be able to run it. Although, it may be a bit sluggish.

instead of paying for a windows xp upgrade perhaps consider purchasing a new notebook that comes with winxp preinstalled and will run way better than your current system, you can find a new notebook for less than 500, windows xp upgrade is 100 on its own and theres no guarantee that it will run ok on your computer.
