Whenever i try to open a media file online that requires windows media player, the player will load the file but is not able to play sound or music. The website the media is being hosted appears to have loaded properly.

is it just this one website or any media you try to play from any website? Tell more about your computer, cpu, ram, harddrive size/free space available, what operating system and which media player and version?

Hello,
Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall media player 11?
If you have not tried this please do, if that does not change any thing then, uninstall media player 11 and try installing media player 10 and see if the problem persists.
You can get a copy of media player 10 here.....
http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=wmp
Another thing you should do is make sure you have all the current windows updates
You can get them here....

Please let me know
Thanks,
