A question first then we will see what we can do. Are the c: and d: two seperate drives or just seperate partitions on the same drive. If they are two partitions on the same drive then you can go about doing what you want two ways....
A. Drag pic's, movies, music, any large files over from c: to d: and see how much room it gives you on c:
B Use a partition editing app to del the d: partition and resize the c: partition to fill up the left over unpartitioned space left after you delet the d: partition.
fdisk won't really do that because it tends to destroy data and format when making a partition. You would need something like Partition Magic or one of the many free partition apps that can be found on the net. The reason I like PM is because it has a nice simple easy to use graphical user interface. In other words you don't have to be a computer geek to del, move, extend, or resize partitions.

Partition Magic is the name of the app that I suggested. It itsn't a free aoo. You can find more info on it HERE (http://www.symantec.com/home_homeoffice/products/overview.jsp?pcid=sp&pvid=pm80). There are some free apps out there that do the trick one of them can be found HERE (http://partitionlogic.org.uk/index.html) and yet another can be found HERE (http://www.download.com/3000-2094-10051392.html) If you go with one of the free ones make sure to read all the how to's and doc's that go with them.

they are safe if you read and understand/follow the instructions. However, and there is a big however, as with any other partition software free or not, there is always a chance things will not go as plan and you could end up with a royal mess. Be sure to backup anything you cannot afford to lose.
