Slow pointer

I am using Win98. Often when I move the mouse pointer it won't move for several seconds then jumps to the desired spot on the screen. I have freed up resources and changed the resolution. It helped some but the pointer does not move as freely as my other computer. Any ideas?

Start | Settings | Control Panel click on Mouse. You can change how fast the mouse moves there, as well as some other settings. Also, try updating the drivers for the mouse. Post what brand/style mouse you have, and we'll find the drivers for ya.

Have you tried a different mouse?

Is your system overclocked? I have that problem if I overclock my system too far.
