How can I disable the auto starting of my CD-ROM drive in Win 2000 Pro. I know how to do it in Win 98 SE but I can't find it in 2000.

Thanks

do you mean booting from CD-ROM, or autoplay when you insert a CD in there?

i'm gonna guess you mean autoplay. Apparently, if you want to keep autoplay on in general, but just not have that one CD autoplay, you can hold SHIFT when you insert the CD and it won't autoplay. if you want to disable autoplay permanently, run regedit.exe in your Run console, and go to :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Cdrom
and change "autorun" to 0.
