i have a windows 2000 operating system on my computer . My computer has shut down giving me an error of
" Stop c40218 Registry failure .Registry Can't load Hive file
\ System Root\system 32\Config\software or it's log or alternate. It is currupt or not acessable. Begining dump of physical mem. "

I formated the hard drive an re installed the operating system and after two weeks it gave me the same error .

if anyone has come across this problem coud you please help me.:( :( :(

BTW - I understand that MS had a hotfix for this problem that is now included in Service Pack 3

Hi ,Thanks for the help but i solved the problem . Apparently it was a case of bad Ram . So i replaced the ram card and the computer Booted normally working fine .
