The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please try the following:

Click the Refresh button, or try again later.

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.

To check your connection settings, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click Settings. The settings should match those provided by your local area network (LAN) administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
If your Network Administrator has enabled it, Microsoft Windows can examine your network and automatically discover network connection settings.
If you would like Windows to try and discover them,
click Detect Network Settings
Some sites require 128-bit connection security. Click the Help menu and then click About Internet Explorer to determine what strength security you have installed.
If you are trying to reach a secure site, make sure your Security settings can support it. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and check settings for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0.
Click the Back button to try another link.

Have you had this problem recently
Has the internet connection worked before

Start Internet Explorer, and then verify that it has 128-bit encryption:
From the Help menu, choose About Internet Explorer.
Cipher Strength should be 128-bit.
If it is not 128-bit, click (Update Information) to download the 128-bit browser.

from a command prompt (like you did with the ping) perform an ipconfig/all command on both machines.
Compare each line of the response betwen each machine and make sure they are the same (there will be two or three lines different, because that will be specific to each machine).

Post back your findings - I'm off boozing in swansea in an hour, so if you haven't responded before them, hopefully someone else will dive in and assist BM to get you sorted.

good luck.

I wouldnt call it a waste if you can fix your problem.....:D

It is possibly a virus but without that scan and an expert to look over it we will not know for sure

How is the modem connected to your PC? USB? Cat5 (network cable)?
Have you installed the drivers for the modem, if any?
Have you installed any connection software Tiscali requires?
When you tried pinging, where did you ping?
Has the internet connection ever worked on this machine?
Do any other internet-enabled applications work? (eg. email, instant messaging, software updates, etc)

Try each of the following, testing your connection each time:
Clear IE's cache (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/using/howto/customizing/clearcache.mspx#ENB)
Winsock Fix (http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/WinsockxpFix.exe)
Reinstall IE (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;318378)

Due to forum rules i am not allowed to give you any spyware removal advice.. that is left to the cybersafety team.

I believe Stoneangel is helping you and as soon as he is able to he will respond to your cybersafety thread. When your log is clear and im sure after he has finished your problems will be solved anyway...
Any other problems not relating to viruses and spyware can be put here..Good luck
