How do I check the system resources under Win 2K pro. Win 98 gave you a percentage. I checked using ctrl-alt-del, didn't know what I was looking for. Thanks.

err, what do you mean by system resources..... like how much RAM being used, or cpu usage? in that case, you can right click on the task bar and click "task manager". i always have mine minimized in the system try.

otherwise, i don't know. d:)

Thanks for your reply. I guess what I want to know is how to interrupt what I'm seeing. What's good-what's bad.

Win2k is vastly superior to win98. As long as you have enough RAM and are not swapping too much you should be good to go :)

In task manager click on the performance tab.

You should be keeping an eye on the Commit Charge (K) Peak

Mem Usage
Your Physical Memory (K) Total
Your Physical Memory (K) Available

CPU Usage to an extent.

Windows will start swapping (using virtual memory) when you have no more physical memory available. Swapping = bad and slow downs.

Thanks for the replies. My Commit Charge is:

Total=82,760
Limit=747,908
Peak=83,412

Would you consider these number OK?

Thanks,jmtjet
