My computer can't find any programs. whenver i try to open a program, an error message pops up. It says that it can't find the program or any of its components. When I got o the dir to check out the program, I can see the program, and it looks like all the files are there, but i can't be too sure of that. This problem occurs with all the programs exept the ones on my desktop.
Recently I deleted a file named WinServices from my WINNT dir because it was infected, and after that all this crap started to happen. HELP ME PLEASE

Due to the "file named WinServices", it sounds like you may have been infected with some variant of the Yaha worm (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.yaha.k@mm.html) .
If you are able to connect to the internet on that rig, you may want to try TrendMicro's free Housecall (http://housecall.trendmicro.com/) to see if in fact your rig is infected.
You may also want to d/load and run the Yaha removal tool (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.yaha.removal.tool.html) . Read the instructions (perhaps even print them).

Hello,
I have a similar problem with Excel. The system will recognize the other office applications but not Excel.
Microsoft said to try to access the program in "Safe" mode. I have not tried that yet.
Our local guru recommended running a disk repair on startup and if that didn't work to run an operating system repair.

Hello,
Here is what we did to resolve my Excel issue.
This is a summary of the key points:
Action: Opening Excel.
Result: Crashes.
Cause: Corrupt menu configuration file (*.xlb).
Resolution: Delete the menu configuration file (*.xlb).
See Microsoft knowledge base article Q280504 for details.
According to microsoft, the error started because Adobe was trying to add its icon to Excel.
After the action was executed, the system recognized Excel and the Adobe icon was on the Excel menu bar.
Hope it helps.
