Something new to worry about. Looks like call center staff were selling personal data including credit card numbers.

An undercover TV investigation claims to have infiltrated criminal gangs selling thousands of U.K. credit card and passport details for as little as $9.50 each from offshore call centers.

I wonder if its been happening to US callers also?

It's been big news over here for a while, this case Dan - there is absolute holy hell about it.

Another nail in the coffin for the appalling practice of offshoring.

Do you get put through to Indian call centres in the US like we do in the UK? Cheap labour is the problem.. you get put through to some guy with his donkey tied up outside. :curse:

Oh yes, we get the same stuff. A while back I was having a problem with my Verizon DSL connection. I called tech support and got a girl who's English was so poor I couldn't make out what she was saying for the life of me. To make it worse she was reading from a scripted and wouldn't stop reading. I couldn't get a word in. Finally she said " your problem bad modem/router we send one" I said fine. The problem was a line problem and was fixed the next day. I've still got the Westell 327W modem/router she sent. HeHe.
