Hello,
Cybertech has been a very good tool the past few years for me.
It has been great.
But I am sad to say that it seems harder and harder to get an answer to any reply now.
It has been days now and my topic concerning my hijack log has gone without one reply.
I guess that this whole cybertech online help has got to the point where it is too full and too many people asking questions.
But I do thank you for the many years that it was good.
I can't complain for free advice.
It was great while it lasted.

Hi Ikey, I'm sorry you have experienced the overcrowding that we have in our Cyber Safety forum.
We have known about the problem for some time and there is a sticky post http://images.cybertechhelp.com/forumimages/misc/sticky.gif Sticky: What to do if your topic has not been answered (Cyber Safety forum only) (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=106105) directly addressing this problem. I can't directly speak for the helpers there but seeing you have made two replies to your own thread actually has the opposite effect of making it appear the thread is being handled so may make it MORE likely to be overlooked.
Please post a note in the sticky and I'm certain your topic will be addressed as soon as possible.

Hello,
Thanks.
I am sorry if I sounded upset.
I really understand that cybertech has grown.
I should have read a little more about the sticky
and posting link.
Thanks again.
And I am happy for cybertechhelp.!

Please note that only the Cyber Safety forum experiences this delay. There aren't as many qualified personnel there, and topics generally take longer to resolve due to lengthy analysis, repeated replies and follow-ups, etc. The other categories are generally unaffected.
Of course, users could always do everyone a favor by ensuring they have up to date anti-malware/security software installed, and practice safe browsing techniques (eg. not open unknown files, clicking questionable links), so they don't have to post in Cyber Safety.

I have to agree with the response, I was looking at the number of posts in the cyber safety forum and was dismayed at the number of posts asking for help with their hijackthis log. But IMO, its not cth's fault.
fyi - looking at logs is not a simple thing, it requires an analysis of every single line. A mistake by the helper could cause a reinstall so they have to be extremely careful and extremely deligent in their research. And this is just the first round. Depending upon the problems, it could take many many back and forth examinations and fixing before the problem is solved, Just one log could require hours of the volunteers time.
CTH is not the only forum experiencing the overload, all of the major forums who also do the hjt thing are also experiencing their own overloads. Some forums have completely stopped checking logs because of the overload. Something to think about IMO, CTH has one of the fastest turnaround.
Maybe with Vista, there will be fewer problems and the helpers will become unemployed but unfortunately that will not be the case. In the meantime instead of griping, how about praising those who help with the logs because they are giving up alot of their personal free time just to help you.
