Unhappy Resources Low

When I am in an AOL chatroom, everything is fine for about 10 minutes. Then, the screen gets a little scrambled and the box of chatting names disappears and I start getting low resource warnings. Finally, the screen freezes. I deleted all cookies, and history, defragged the hard drive, and ran Adaware Spyware, but still have the same problem. I have 640 Megs of RAM.

By right clicking on My Computer and then properties, you can watch the % of resources go down by the minute.

Dell Computer

I have a Dell, Pentium IV running at 1.4 Gig with 640 Megs of Ram. Its a new problem that started about 1 week ago and I didnt install anything new or download any updates. I tried deleting AOL and reinstalling it, which worked the first time I used it, but the next day the problem was back.
