Like I am, it was bitter sweet to see the Yankees lose in the play offs to the Tigers.......It makes me wonder who'll be in the Yankees line up next year. I reckon the Manager (Torres) will be gone and possibly A-Rod too, just to name a couple!!

I'm a life long Yankee fan. I think it's a mistake to fire Joe Torre and hire Lou Pinniella. If they want a new manager, they need to look to the future and hire a young aggressive manager like Joe Girardi. Girardi done a great job with Florida, but just didn't get along with the owner. The Yankees need to stop wasteing money on the "over the hill" players. That's why they lose in the play-off, their tired.

I don't know anything about Cricket. But every kid in America plays baseball. That's how we learn the game. We play it from the time we are very young until we are middle aged or older(softball), it's the American pastime. We know what it takes for a player to get to the big leagues and what every managers is trying to do etc. We love to cheer our favorite player or boo the opposition. It's like soccer in Europe, every kid plays it so they know what's going on. Personally, I think soccer is boring.

Being from the UK originally I used to love watching cricket, and found it far from boring. It's just not easy trying to explain the game to folks over here in the US, I've tried many a time, and gave up!!
I think many Americans think football/soccer is boring because of the results of the games, at least the folks I've spoken to about it say that. The irony of this is they love baseball, despite the fact baseball games are 3-4 hours long, and can result with one run. :p
