I want to be able to post a message I have written in my documents. The message is saved as a text document. What I am trying to do is paste this message into an area such as this by transfering it from my documents into the posting.I've tried opening the file at the same time my cursor is alive in the messanger box and going to paste in the edit menu but it will never let me paste it?How can I transfer this message into the messanger box.It is sort of a true short story I have written and would like to post it in a few general discussion forums for people who can relate but it is pretty long and I don't want to write it every time??????

I'll assume that you have highlighted and chosen to copy the text that you want to paste in a post. What then happens when you right-click and choose Paste within the message box that doesn't allow you to paste it?

Okay.......when you open the document in My Documents, the messenger box (say you're in this thread and have hit the Reply button and have the messenger box open) should be minimized at the bottom of your screen. Highlight and then choose Copy for the text that you want to paste in the messenger box, then click on the minimized window at the bottom of the screen to bring up the messenger box again. Right-click within the messenger box and then choose Paste.

What you trying to do is call Copy and Paste.

The last thing "copied" stays in the Clipboard (an invisible thing) till
you either copy again where it will be replaced, or reboot the computer
where the Clipboard will be zero'd.

One can Cut, Copy, and Paste.

Cut = remove the item out of the original
Copy = copy the original item
Paste = spit-out what I copied or cut

This site shows the basics (http://www.webmasternow.com/copyandpaste.html)
There is an exit popup on that site...annoying but harmless
