Internet Explorer wont connect
So I had to reinstall my system due to a virus. i finally got windows xp home installed and all the drivers for everything working. the system functions completely. except i cannot connect to the internet. explorer will just not use it. I have broadband (cable) and after a while, i got it to recognize the network cable was plugged in at 100kbps, but it still would not connect to the internet. i have exhausted my saavy. any help, or ideas are welcome

I had an interesting thing happen recently. The power flickered, and when I rebooted I had no internet connectivity. After an hour on the phone with Comcast I discovered my onboard Ethernet connector had fried. Don't know if you had any power issues, but I bought a new ethernet card and everything was solved.

i will give that a try. thanks...i dont think i had any power issues, but i will look at it
