hi there...do you have any earlier version of itunes in your computer? or did you previously pre-install it? i think you will have to remove every components on itunes and quicktime, restart the comp and start re-install it.

make sure you opt for itunes 7.1 with quicktime 7.3 version. if you have any codec of quicktime earlier, remove it.

Sorry its supposed to be itunes 7.1 with quicktime 7.1.3 version.

As for your library, I'm not really sure though. Because I thought I will lose my library when I uninstall my iTunes and install the newer version. However, somehow it imports all my 87GB songs from my old iTunes into the newer version. So I did not have to re-edit any songs. It's all there.

However, I'm not sure if it works for all. So far I've tried everything, and I can't seem to fix my iTunes before. So i got fedup and uninstall it. You can take the risk if you're willing to.

Hey, I think you could post this topic in apple forum. Since that forum is for mac and ipod user, someone should know.

Weird however, when I uninstall my iTunes from my laptop, and instal a newer version, I have to add all my files again. :s So I guess it's not so reliable to do this. Try the forum at apple website.
