Hello there,

I am just starting to learn to use this vast and amazing software...
I've done several hours of tutorials and now I'm trying to capture video to my computer but while I do so, the capturing stops and I get a pop up window that says " dropped frames have been detected"
I read something in the help menu that I should set the analogue data rate somewhere to 3 mb/sec, only I have no idea what that means nor do I know where to set this preference.:hmm:
If you have any clue what and where this might be , please help me out!

Thanks in advance!
Cheers

Try defragging your HD that has the most space available and capture to it.

Hey and thank you for your suggestion.
How do I go about doing this though?
Any advice?

At least do a standard Windows defrag. Many will use a dedicated external firewire HD for their work.

Some thoughts here:

Does that work for Mac OS X as well?

The links are all MAC. Doesn't the MAC have a way to defragment the hard drives?

Thanks so much, these tutorials actually helped. It was a questions of settings.
Thanks again, you saved the day :)
