Ok, so i downloaded a torrent of some television shows that totalled around 9 gigs. After the show finished downloading, the files were missing from the destination folder. So, i did a standard *.avi search on my drive and found the files were not there at all. However, my disk space was still 9 gigs smaller.

So, i did some poking around to find where these files would be. Individually clicking folders until i found one that seemed to be 9 gigs too big. I finally stopped on my Temporary Internet Files. So, i deleted files, deleted cookies and checked the folder. completely empty, but still reading at 9 gigs. I made sure that my hidden folders/files option was turned off and theres still nothing. I ran spybot and adaware and they returned no problems. I tried a file recovery tool and it came up empty.

So, my question is, is there anyway to eliminate these files off my disk without having to format my drive? Thanks to everyone in advance, and since this is my first post on this board sorry if i'm stepping on any toes or anything with my question. THanks!

try ccleaner (http://ccleaner.com)and see what happens. Also check out ace utilities (http://www.acelogix.com/). It has a free thirty day uncrippled trial. It has a feature that will locate large files. Give it a try also

Total Commander will allow you to see all of the temporary internet files and delete them.

Thank you all so much for your help. Total commander located the files in simply moments and i was able to delete them with no problems. Freed up half my hard drive (i know, it's small and pathetic). So, thank you once again for all your help, you guys rock.
