Im a mac user and just got this pc to do a few basic programs that I am just too lazy to try to do on a dual boot setup on my intel mac. when i first installed win 2k on my ipaq c700, there were 3 drivers missing. one for the vga monitor, another for the audio, and last but not least the network adaptor. After a few minutes of toil i was able to get the audio and vga drivers up and running, which im very happy with. However, NO driver on the compaq driver site seems to work for my little machine. I have tried each of them, and was told by compaq that it was an Intel Pro 10/100 adaptor. Yet the ones they gave me on the web site dont let the card run at all. My main problem is because of this I can t boot ipconfig in order to get my IP address to go on the net.

Whew, yes most of all that techno jargel i learned in the last 24 hours, and my brain is quite fried (why pc's have to be so much harder than macs to run ill never understand). if anyone knows what driver is supposed to be in here, and where to get it, i would be most appreciative. thank you.

According to the archived specs for an Ipaq c700, that system has an Intel pro/100 vm network card, if thats the case try this driver (http://support.intel.com/support/network/sb/cs-006103.htm) direct from Intel.

Glad you got it working. Thats the problem with using prebuilt systems, they use hardware manufactured specifically for them, so drivers are more difficult to find.
