Help...I own a Gateway solo 5300 laptop computer running on Windows ME. When I start my computer a blue box appears on the screen halting my startup. The blue box contains the following information:
ScanDisk-Local Drive (C:)
Select the drive you want to check for errors.
3 1/2 floppy
Local Disc
Type of Test
*Standard
*Thorough
Inproper shutdown detected.
Checking disc for errors.
Start Cancel Advanced

This box appears everytime I turn my computer on. I have always closed all programs and shut down according to the onscrren directions. I have also tried allowing the test to run a complete check but the box contimues to reappear everytime.
The cancel button is the only highlighted button on the screen. If I cancel I can continue on with my startup.
Is there anyway I can get rid of the annoying box permanently?
Thank you for your help.
Kim
