Norton 2005 repair

When my computer starts up it says wait while window configures nortonantivirus 2005 Then it has nortonantivirus2005 does not support the repair feature please uninstall and reinstall

I have broadband 2mb+ connection but it is so slow 236kbps with a transfer rate of 29kbps could this have anything to do with this earlier issue

Have you tried uninstalling Norton? You need to use the installation disk to uninstall it.

Then with it uninstalled (and with XP's built-in firewall enabled while testing), see if the internet speeds improve. If so, you'll have identified the culprit. It's up to you to decide whether you want to reinstall Norton and see if whatever its problems were are resolved by the uninstall/reinstall.
