*Waves* Hi all, Im the spanner that can't post in the right boards *Blushes* Eh, anyway, just wondering, is there a rule that states you shouldnt help in a thread posted in the wrong place, and ummm... as for my thread, which Im fairly sure is in the wrong place, should I ask a mod to move it, just repost in the right place or ummm just leave it?

Also, while Im here asking questions, is there a rule on bumping. (Im not much of a bumper, bugs the hell out of me, but at the same time, would like an answer sooner rather than later. Since my question has slid onto the second page, am I allowed to bump it back to the first page after say 24 hours or 48 hours or something with no reply, or is there no time limit on bumps and its to the users discretion, or is it no bumps whatsoever however hopeful you are of annoying everyone else until they help you? :evillaugh:

*Scratches head and tries to think of any other quick queries that she couldn't easily find an answer to while trawling through FAQs and the like.* Nope, cant think of anything else for now. Thats me done for now...

*Tootles off to get herself some srcummy lunch*

The only major rule we have for not posting in threads is for HJT log threads in the Cyber Safety Forum

Please Report the post (http://images.cybertechhelp.com/forumimages/buttons_cth/report.gif) or contact a mod about it. Your post will be moved, merged or closed. Which ever is appropriate.

is there a rule on bumping

It is recommended that you bump your thread if there has been an unacceptable time btween replies. e.g. 24+ hours.

Note: I've moved this post to the comments and suggestions forum. A redirect will be left in the open discussion forum.

is there a rule that states you shouldnt help in a thread posted in the wrong placeYou can help in the thread. If the post gets moved to the right thread, all the replies will move with it. If there are multiple posts of the same topic, the threads will usually be merged, including replies.
Also, while Im here asking questions, is there a rule on bumping. (Im not much of a bumper, bugs the hell out of me, but at the same time, would like an answer sooner rather than later. Since my question has slid onto the second page, am I allowed to bump it back to the first page after say 24 hours or 48 hours or something with no reply, or is there no time limit on bumps and its to the users discretion, or is it no bumps whatsoever however hopeful you are of annoying everyone else until they help you?It annoys me too. I always advise that if you have to bump, only do so after at least 48hours, which leaves enough time to consider time zones and the fact that not everyone logs on everyday. Bumping reduces your chances of being seeing almost as much as having an old thread does - many members specifically search for 0-reply threads.
