I just got a new HP slimline & it has no disk drive but I have a printer to install that only came with a disk drive driver, can I copy the disk onto a cd-rom??? then install it?

Thanks
Angie

you can use cd to move it over or a usb jump drive or you can go to the printers manufacturers website and download the driver.

First, welcome to the CTH forum! I had the same problem a few years ago when I bought an IBM X-40 ThinkPad - no optical drive, but a joy to travel w/ on the road. Basically, Renegade has the solutions. I used a USB drive to copy what I needed onto the laptop - make sure you have one that is large enough to contain the programs desired; also, if you are web-connected, then the drivers, programs, etc. can be simply downloaded from the manufacturer's web sites. So, not real a big issue. Good luck.

Of course Angie, just find yourself a computer that can burn CDs, put the floppy in, and just transfer the contents to the CD and burn it. I do that all the time with my Amiga because I can't get on the internet with it yet.

The other way will work too but the above is simpler.
