When I start up my Power MAC G4 I do not get a picture. It is a good monitor works with my PC and Laptop. The connections are good, Wires etc. It has worked on this Mac before. I have changed the video card .. still no picture. The computer turns on but still no display. I do not know what else it could be. Could it be the Battery? Thanks for the help

Did you change the video card before or after hooking up the monitor? Does any other monitor work with the Mac? What type of connection is it? DVI, ADC, VGA?

I changed the video card after I lost the picture. It worked fine and I thought for sure it was the card,. The monitor is fine. The new card will use either DVI or VGA (If I use an adapter). The card is a radeon 9200 for Mac if that helps.

So you lost picture then changed cards thinking it was the card. hmm....
Well if it's still not working.. does the monitor function if plugged into another system? Maybe the monitor actually blew, not the card. I've had a few CRT monitors just die for no reason. It does happen.

No, that may have been old information. If it was connected to the mac and then lost picture, the video card was replaced, the only options are a) a bad video card still or b) the monitor died. Just because the monitor worked in the past on a PC does not mean it will today. If the monitor died, it died.

The monitor is good. I hooked two different PC's to it and it works fine.

If you get no picture at all it's either the video card or the cable in the Mac then. The OS and it's software would not prevent a picture. Even the most whacked out system software will power up a monitor picture with something on it.
