Hey folks,

I want to take my cable modem and route it (using a linksys router) but what I'd like to do instead of having all these wires is - Id like to go from the modem, to the router, to various RJ45 jacks (installed in the walls) so that a PC can just plug into the wall.

Do I wire the Cat5e cable the same on both ends? (The end that plugs into the router and the end that terminates in the jack?)

Thanks in advance.

- Can.

Yes, you want to always wire cat5 cables in a wall as a straight-through cable.

Welcome :)

Wireless sounds like an easier option ;)

Yea wireless would be, the building dosent like it - the connections really stink.

So by through cable you mean from the router to the rack?
Cause I know through cable as "patch".
Thanks again.
