I really want to upgrade my hp pavilion 7840 to include USB 2.0 but when I tried to install the new card the computer crashed and went to bios stating resource conflict.I couldn't get any techsupport(kingwin.com)and intel no longer offers support for 82810 810 chipset.I'm running windows me with 512mb of SDRAM DIMMs.I've got the Intel(r)82801AA USB Universal Host Controller.can anybody offer insight?much thanks

If I read this correctly, (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph05956&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=58074&dlc=en&lang=en) looks like you are out of luck when it comes to usb2.

Just get a USB2.0 PCI card. Thier cheap and easy to install.
