I have two PC'c running windows XP. One is a desktop machine wired to a Netgear router and Lexmark z32 printer. The other PC is a laptop, wirelessly connected. I want to be able to print from the laptop to the printer connected to the other PC.
I have enabled print and file sharing and set up a home network, but still cannot print. The laptop can 'see' the printer OK, as well as the shared folders on the network, and when I set it up to share, it accepted the necessary drivers from the desktop machine. But it won't actually print to it. Instead, I get a fairly unspecific error message which suggests using the troubleshooter. As a result of this, I have installed the printer drivers onto the laptop, thinking that this might be the problem. But it isn't. Can anyone see anything I might be missing? This should be so, so easy...
