I have some documents. I want to allow other users to use this document either FTP or HTTP or any other alternative way through internet. Is it possible to share folder from my PC or Server and allow other ppl to use it?
If it is, what are the process of sharing? It will be very helpful for me if anybody provides solution of this problem..

you can share if they are on teh same network as you. If not, then you need online storage space and store the documents there. Are they on the same network as you?

Ok not to hijack this thread from Dan "he's good people" but to maybe help out a bit here is the deal. For what you want to do you have 3 options.
1. Setup an FTP server and people can log in and grab any files you put in there.
2. Use some online storage and give people the address so they can go there and grab the files.
3. Setup a web server create an index page and let folks grab the files off the page.
Having said that the easiest option would be to use some online storage. Setting up an FTP server isn't very hard but to the novice it can be a bit of an undertaking. Its also somewhat of a security hole if you don't know what you are doing. Setting up a web server and creating an index page just to share out a few files is way more trouble than its worth. That would be kinda like taking the gas tank out of a car filling it with gas and putting it back in. Just way more trouble ya know. I would go with using online storeage. Something like Dropload would work well for you. You can upload a file or files up to 100MB's each and send people an email with a link to the files so they can grab them. Its free, easy to use and it won't require you to do much at all. For more info and to try it out go HERE (http://www.dropload.com/)

thanks - you are not hijacking this thread from me. I forgot so I am glad someone else gave good advise.
crazy p - I agree, though I am not sure of what type of information you want to share, the best and easiest is via online storage.
One more question, will the others make changes to the file? How will they know about the files? Is it for specific individuals or for anyone who might come across it.
