I am using a Linksys portable usb adapter to connect to a wireless router. The model number of the portable adapter is WUSB54GP ver.4. It works fine and I am able to maintain an internet connection --- until I connect my Sandisk Cruzer Micro Drive into a different USB port (which becomes my E drive). Once I connect the Cruzer Drive, the Linksys adapter loses it's connection to the access point and I have to reboot the computer to restore my connection.

Can somebody help me resolve this?

Thank you!!!

Jill

Have you tried getting the newest drivers for the usb network adapter?

I also try moving it to a USB port that is attached to a different USB controller. Most newer PCs have more than 1 USB controller (hopefully yours does). By going to the device manager and viewing by connection you should be able to determine if you have more than one USB controller. Then by moving the adapter to different USB ports and seeing what controller it shows up under you can figure out how to separate them.
