Exclamation Networking problem.

I just got my spiffy brand new computer in the mail. However, the internet connection doesent go to my computer from the 'host' computer. My computer is talkting to the host computer, but the host computer isnt.

I have tried everything. Trying to make a new network connection, disabling firewalls, and I even called my 'tech support' brother, but still no solution has been found.

Please help! I dont want to pay 70 bucks for the internet guys to come out and click on button and fix it. >.<

Welcome to CTH,

Let me ask you a question or three then we can get going and see if we can't fix you up. First what type of internet connection do you have "cable, dsl, dial up"? Next are you using a router to share the connection or ICS "internet connection sharing" built into windows or some other way of sharing the connection?

Ok one more question just to make sure we are on the same page. Are you unable to access the internet or just not able to share files/folders with the other computer, or both?

The host computer is able to access the internet, but the two computers networked to the host computer that share the internet are unable to access the internet.

Anyway, finally called the people who set up the internet and even they are unable to fix it. They are coming out to overhall everything, so no need to continue. Thanks for her help though!
