i need to start over but i cant remember how to start a new topic in a forum. somehow i found this one and am able to post a new topic here. so i need to close my old post(topics/threads) and start a new one having to do with display/video drivers. i just hooked up a different monitor and it is reading that it can not find the driver device to adjust my display. i dont know if i need to update my old ati rage pro turbo agp drivers or if i need to find the drivers for my samsung syncmaster 753df monitor. can someone please tell me how to post a new topic in the right forum for this or if this is where i can get my answers to this problem. i am unable to adjust my monitor display so i am unable to enter any online (like pogo.com)game rooms because of this. the display on my monitor jumps up and down and the color is barely readable. i have not been able to determine the right drivers that i need to install and how to uninstall my old drivers if need to be done manually. can a senior member or moderator please help me with this. i have been up for 2 days confusing everyone in my old topic thread. i really would apreciate any and all help that i can get on this. thx to all that can help me...

I would p.m. the Mod in whatever forum you want the threads closed and give the links to the threads.
I see your using Windows ME so I would post in that forum.

Since your problem seems to be driver related that's more tied into the OS your using for purpose of removing/updating. You can always give a link to a thread to a previous problem into a new thread for the purpose of giving background information on what is happening.
I don't know who told you your not suppose to p.m. the Mods. Helping members to use this forum is why they get the big bucks and perks.
Hell they've p.m.'ed me plenty of times on what I can or can't do here.

Hi lostnlonli1,
Let me try to clear a few things up and see if I can make your time here a bit less confusing. First, you don't need to get a thread closed in order to start a thread on another topic. What we don't want to happen is to have someone with multiple threads going at the same time for the same problem. When this happens it more often than not the person gets confused because they are getting different instructions in each thread because the other people involved are not aware of the two threads. It can also lead to people duplicating each others work to solve the same problem when they could be spending their time helping others.
As far as PM'ing mods and others in the forum, what we don't want happening is having help sessions going through PM. There are a couple of issues with PM help sessions, the first is if the person helping gets busy, then the helpee may go days without help. The second is having the help in the public forum allows others to benefit from it.
If there is forum business and you need to contact a mod, go ahead and do it. If want to bring a problem post or a thread to the staff's attention, there is a http://images.cybertechhelp.com/forumimages/buttons_cth/report.gif button in each post, clicking it will allow you to send a message to the whole staff and whoever is available at the time will help.
