I have comcast internet. I would like to know if I get a second modem in my house, will I need to pay more for it?

Are you trying to get internet in another room on another computer? If so what you need is a router. Then you can share the internet connection with as many computers as you like "well within reason".

I do know that much about networking. I do have a working wireless network in my house. I would like another modem, because I run a Half-Life 2 game server and my mother doesn't like when it runs off of the wireless router.

Well cable internet doesn't really work that way. You can't get another modem to use with the same connection. I guess you could call the cable company up and ask them how much they would charge to come out and run a whole new drop to your house for a seperate cable connection, but chances are they won't do it or it will cost so much you won't be able to afford it.
