A litle while back I changed the icons on the desktop and no EXE files would run as shortcuts from the start menu only from run command. I was told by a friend that I had to get the original settings back by going to the the registry and doing something with system.da0 or similar file. Anyhow I did that and the accessories work now as shortcuts but no other program like office works as I get a message saying that OLE2.0 has failed to initialize. What can I do about this. I have visted the microsoft website but there is nothing really there of anyhelp. Please someone tell me how I get the OLE to initialize so I can get to the programs.

Hi,

Could you please exactly tell us what u did to the registry files (system.da0) ?

It sounds like whats happened is you have restored your registry. In which case you have effectively uninstalled in the registry the programs which atm you are having problems running.

Try reinstalling the apps and pls let us know how it goes http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/smile.gif
