I recently loaded lotus to my computer to help a friend do some mailing labels and it messed up my computer. Every time I boot up it came up to the lotus program. I decided to un-install it and went to the add and remove section to un-install it and it wouldn't let me un-install it. So someone told me the next best thing to due was find the Lotus folder and delete it. I did this and my computer at least started up the way it was before. The problem is it seems to be much slower now. I was told that Lotus is hard to get all the files deleted. There are probably still some registry files on my computer. How can I get them off and will this make things run faster? I don't know much about computers. Also want are some things I can do to clean up my computer some of the files from the internet and other program I have deleted? Should I empty my temporary internet files and if so how? Also how about my cache. How about the files that are on my computer that are not needed?
This is alot of questions but I need as much advise as possible on taking care of my computer and keeping in running as smooth and fast as possible. My computer is a hewlett packard Pavilioin 6735. 633 MHz, 128 mb ram, 15.0 GB hard dirve, 48Xmax speed CD-ROM.
Thanks
Larry

Hi sharp - your best option is to install it again and try uninstalling it from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. It might work a second time.

How do I optimize my computer? I would like to get rid of some registry files from a Lotus program that didn't get deleted?
Thanks.

You could try running RegCleaner. I got the program from a friend of mine and it does a good job removing unesessary registry entres. Set it up by going to Options, Registry Cleanup, Method, make sure automatic is checked, then go down to backups, make sure Create 1 backup is checked, then go down to OLE Cleaner, click Extra Powerful, then click view stats. Finaly go to the Tools Menu, Registry Cleaner, and click Do Them All. Let me know if that helps!
