Unhappy Images and pages not loading properly in IE7 and Firefox???

Hi there...

I have a problem that has popped up on my PC since about three days ago.

Many webpages will not display all of the images when using IE7... I get red X's and placeholders instead of the pictures. SOME pictures display just fine, though. Also, some websites seem to not load properly at all... with all of the graphics and images missing... almost 'scrambled' looking.

I decided to start up my Firefox and discovered I am having the exact same issues with the exact same images missing and pages not displaying properly.

This is weird. I have run all of my virus protection, adware, etc. I have restarted a couple of times, all of my settings and such seem correct in both browsers. I don't get it.

Is there anything from my ISP that might cause this? Has anyone else had the same issue? I'm curious as this one is completely stumping me!

Thanks for any help you can give!

Its usually your firewall that will do this, disable it for a minute and try, if it works
then you need to set iexplore.exe and firefox.exe in the application rules of your firewall to "allow all" and that might fix it, if that doesn't fix it, it could be that you are behind a router or modem that won't allow that specific TCP port.

Okay, so I tried turning off my firewall and no change.

Firefox and Explorer are already on my exceptions list. I'm not using a router. Could it be something going on with my modem or even my ISP?

Thanks for the help, BTW!

what type of internet access do you have? Has it been slow lately? Have you installed any type of ad blocking software?

It has been a bit slow lately...

I use broadband.

I have Adaware, I've been using it for ages though, I don't think anything has changed...

sometimes when the isp is having problems or theres heavy traffic between you and the site, you may not get all the graphics on a page. Try refreshing the page if you do not get all the graphics and see if they appear.

Refreshing doesn't seem to work, but I was thinking I'd call my ISP in the morning and see if anything is going on. It's actually a company I work for, and I know there's been some 'connectivity' issues around my town, so maybe it's related.

I will update if I find anything...

Okay, so...

Things have improved a bit... most webpages are displaying correctly, although the red 'x' situation isn't completely gone. I'm still getting a few red x's on some pages. I basically reset everything in IE7 to default and this seemed to semi-fix it.

The only weirdness that I can't explain is how these same webpages/images aren't displaying properly in IE7, Firefox AND Opera (I tried Opera last night - same issue).

So, I suspect that my issue probably isn't directly related to a browser, although I could be wrong.

And, Black Mirror, thanks for the link. I had already tried most of these steps, but I tried a couple of other suggestions from that page, but the issue is still there.

Anyway, it's a bit better, but not 100%. If anyone else has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it!

What browser(s) are you using? I've noticed over the last several hours that the problem is returning. I'm starting to consider rolling back to IE6... although that wouldn't explain why I'm having the same issue with two other browsers...

??????

i use firefox, but it happens on IE7 like you are experiencing, turning off Google Web Accelerator seemed to help a bit, but not all a total fix

Fix, for me at least

if you are still having the problem, this worked for me, by forcing a fresh reload of the page by holding <shift> and pressing the refresh button

just by doing it on one page seemed to fix it on all of them, hope it works for you
