Low FPS?

Hello! I have resently reformated my computer and reset my BIOS. Everything seems to be exactly the way I had it before the reformat but I have been having low fps problems in my games. Before reformating my cpu had some overheating issues if that has anything to do with it, I applied some thermal paste . Please help me! low fps rate :(:cry2:
Take in mind- I've allready tried several video drivers...
and i do have a unknown device in my device manager found on - (Intel(R) 82801GB LPC Interface Controller - 27B8)
Specs-
Pent D 2.8ghz
1gb ram
nvidia 7800 Gt
ASUS p5ld2 motherboard
windows xp home edition

defragment your drive, turn off all virus scanners, and check for spyware.

its working now... i didnt defrag or anything... but i tried a lot of different things. ty anyways
