reading e-book

I downloded an e-book in pdf on my computer and then i copied it and transfered to my second computer, which is not connected to internet.
is it possible to read this book on the second computer and if so, how to do it

I can read all the pdf files on my not-online computer except some e-books which require a special activator.
i can download the activator on any online computer but it will not work on the off-line
