IE7 installation related to viruses?

I've just installed Internet Explorer 7.0 and right after that, I've began receiving pop-up windows offering to scan my computer or clean my drive. Right after that, Norton Antivirus would find that exact virus on my computer. So far, ErrorSafe was found twice on my computer and some other ones. They pop up every 10-15 minutes or so. Any chance that could be related to the installation and if so, is there any way I could fix it? Norton Antivirus doesn't see any downloader or virus as such on my computer. Any help plz?
