I am using Windows Me and was changing the resolution. The moniter screen went black and after trying everything I can think of to return to a viewable sreen, nothing will work. When re-booting it appears to be opening all the way through the Windows Me Splash screen then it goes black.
Please tell me how to correct the problem.
Thanks.

Boot into Safe Mode and then try a System Restore, restoring it back to the last checkpoint before you made the changes to the resolution.

When you start/restart your computer, keep tapping the F8 key and you should get to the Startup Menu where you can choose Safe Mode.

GretaP,
When I tapped the F-8 Key a dialog box finally opened, titled "Select Boot Device" with the 3-1/2, IDE and the CD ROM drives listed that I could make a choice. I tried the F-10 Key and I tried several different ways to get into the Safe Mode.
Finally I switched to a different moniter and everything was fine. Evidently the moniter is kaput, No Good.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for letting us know the outcome. Display problems can either be due to the video card, settings that the monitor can't handle, or the monitor itself.
