Will a AMD 64 X2 5000 + be able to hold the new Nvidia card w/o blowing up or overheating?

Hi,

It's not the CPU which decides whether or not a card is going to blow. There are multiple factors involved. These are mainly a combination of your Power Supply Unit and what juice it has to provide to your video card, RAM, optical drives etc;

Get the biggest and best PSU/ motherboard you can afford.

Both your choices of CPU and vid' card are good. Don't skimp on the quality of RAM or motherboard either.

I'm looking at 3 gig of ram and the ppl at Dell have sworn it should be a great combination with the GTX.
