resolution

The resolution on my computer is very messed up. Pictures are blurry/fuzzy and I can't put in certain cds because of the problem. An alert pops up and says I must have a minimum resolution of 800 x 600 pixels and 16 bit color to run this application. Can someone help me fix my resolution??

right click desktop -> properties -> settings, change your res.

i would of thought when you click on the baloon, it would auto-config your res and ask for your confirmation to proceed?

I have tried to fix my resolution that way, but it will not let me move the resolution bar and it only gives me the choice of 4 bit color.

Howdy and welcome to CTH:

It would appear you need to re-install your video card drivers !!

Question resolution

What are video card drivers? Is that something that comes with the computer when you buy it? I don't have anything that originally come with the computer. Where can I get a video card driver and how much do they usually run?

First try reinstalling the drivers that are already on the hard drive...since that's the easiest and if it works, you're done.

1. Right click on My Computer
2. Left click Properties
3. Left click the Hardware tab
4. Left click the Device Manager button
5. Double click Video Adapters
6. Double click the video card listed there
7. Left click the Drivers tab
8. Left click the Update Drivers button

Step through the wizard, letting Windows look wherever it wants for the drivers. Hopefully, Windows will find and reinstall the drivers and you can then adjust the resolution and color quality to whatever you want.
