Kinda noobish but scary for me

I know its wrong, but i downloaded a movie using bearshare and well i tried to open it on windows media player. I have already whatched .avi movies so no worries there. The problem is that the wmp cannot connect to the movie, i am unable to delete it - always get an error saying that the file is used by other programs and i should close them before trying again". well I closed everything that was closeble and still cant delete it. Now, this normally wouldnt be such a big problem but my comp slows down everytime i try to do anything with that movie. The Norton did not find any viruses or such - all want to do is delete the dam file.

Here is the short list of programs still open when i try to delete the file.
-Norton
-Zango options
-Hp printer thing
-Sound Effect

First see if you can delete it in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode, start repeatedly pressing and releasing the F8 key as soon as the computer begins to boot up. If it starts beeping at you when you press the F8 key, you can stop pressing it.

That should get you to the boot menu where you can choose Safe Mode.

If that doesn't work, try Killbox (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/killbox.php) or MoveOnBoot (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/moveonboot.html).

try using VLC(video lan client) at videolan.org. It provides a ton of codecs and may actually enable you to do what you wanted in the first place --watch the movie. Alternatively reboot normally and try to delete the file again. Is it possible that the file isn't done downloading yet? Are you using bittorrent/limewire/etc and the client is running and seeding the torrent?

It's actually a windows problem. You had to do something, I don't mind explaining but since you solved the current prob...if you need to know more pm me then :)
