Dear friends:
Never mind. I was trying to transcode a DVD in Nero 6.6 but I see that it is copy-protected so that is impossible and there is no way around it. I guess l'll have to go out and buy it.
For the record, I first encoded the VOB files as MPG using the Super program, then tried to recode it in Nero.

Also you need to explain the problem in detail

Dear Renegade:
I thought that recoding a DVD was OK, and Nero allows you to do this, but the problem is that the movie in question is copy-protected. So, we are all stuck till the DVD laws are changed. Here is the screenshot showing the encoding from VOB to MPG2:

sorry, the members of this forum cannot help bypass copy protection. It is against the dcma in the us and similar laws in other countries. Its also a violation of this forums rules.

Dear Renegade600:
I am well aware that CyberTechHelp cannot violate its rules concerning copy-protected DVD's. I was trying to find a legitimate way of doing this. I thought that there was a distinction between copying the DVD directly and re-encoding it. But, alas, Nero's Recode works only with non-copy-protected DVD's. So, I am back where I started. Frustrating but you can't fight city hall.

there is no legitimate way except to purchase your own legal copy. all dvds have encryption. the only way to copy it is to bypass it or break it. That is whats illegal.

Dear Renegade:
I agree. No point in banging my head against the wall. I am sure that there are millions of others who are waiting for the day when the DCMA and EULA will come to their senses and allow DVD copies for personal use. Until then we'll all have to suffer in silence.
Thank you for listening.
