can not connect to server

so i got a huge problem. Whenever I try to play a game online... such as dawn of war or hardwood spades that i like playing, it says i cannot connect to server. Usually i would think they're just down but this happens to any game i try to play online. Any ideas??

Are you connected to the internet through a router? It may just be your Firewall. Try disabling your firewall and see if you can connect then, if you can then you will need to go into the Firewall settings and Allow that program to have full access to the server.

ya i have a router but even when i just directly connect my computer to the internet connection it still doesnt work. And I have my firewalls turned off to the best of my knowledge...

so now today it worked then we stopped playing... then we tried going backto it but it didnt work again....***

It seems like it is either a firewall issue or server issue. Make sure that you have your firewall disabled that means the firewall that you always use PLUS make sure that the windows firewall is disabled too. You can always access your router by opening whatever browser you are using and type 192.168.1.1 into the address box then click enter. once in you will have to open ports for the router to access the server you want to use. Here is a link to where you can find out how to do it. Find your router in the list and click on it. You will have to scroll down on the page to find it. Then just read about your router and how to do it. Good Luck!
