Hello everyone.
I am wondering if someone will be able to help me. I am staying in France with parents on holiday. They have a "livebox" which you use to get online, it's basically like a modem and router all-in-one. You don't need to connect it to any computer, it stands alone. You dont need to network the computers either to get online. Your computer just picks up the wireless network connection and away you go. HOWEVER, my Sony VAIO which is has just been reformatted by Sony and is practically brand new, won't pick up the wireless signal when I am only on the other side of the room. I now have it right next to the livebox on the floor and it connects but connection is "low". I want to be able to move it away from the box and be able to use it. Is there a way to set the RANGE so the comp can pick up the wireless connection when a little further away? I am sending a screenshot of the only thing I could find reguarding the wireless range, itis set to "high" but doesnt make a difference to when it was on default. ![]() Can someone PLEASE help?

There may be a problem with your wireless card - it seems strage. What is the signal like on the other computers connected wirelessly to the router? If you've just got it back from Sony, updating the wireless drivers and running windows update wouldn't hurt.
