Smile PAL vs NTSC

Can I play both PAL & NTSC formats in my DVD drive with either WindowsXP or Windows XP Media edition?

Do I have to do anything special or just pop the DVD in the drive? (WITHOUT messing up using it for normal NTSC)

If you're outputting to a TV, then it depends on the configuration of the graphics drivers and capabilities of the TV.

The only problem might be the region code. If you are Region 1 (NTSC) and you pop in a Region 2 PAL you'll probably be asked to change your player to Region 2. This can only be done 5 times. There is software out there to prevent this. If the disc is Region free you'll not encounter this.
