Random Lockups! Various set-offs!

Hello all,
My name is Tim and I have been experiencing lockups in my computer ever since i built it (approaching 3 weeks). by lockups i mean, freezing, mouse and keyboard not responding and any sound playing repeating the same tone over again. ( quite annoying)

anywho, the specifications of my computer are as follows:

Operating System: Windows XP Professional SP2
Mobo: AM2V890-VSTA (ASrock)
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+, ~2.2GHz
Memory: 1024MB RAM (1 stick) 533ddr2
G-Card: Nvidia 7600gt pci-e 256mb
HDD: sata 2/ Maxtor/ 320gb
Psu: antec 450watt

hrrmmm i think thats everything, soundcard and lan are onboard....

So like i was saying... it seems to be crashing, quite frequently unfortunetly, sometimes randomly, applications and (rarely) games, but i found that the only repetitive time it crashes is when im browsing the net. (yeh i know CPU intense stuff there =D) in particular myspace and youtube, or whenever im watching streaming videos from the net..

Originally i thought it was a problem with over heating, however... i have discovered (thanks to multiple programs & good ol' bios) that my processor and case are both running at under 40 degrees celcius, i inspected the hard drive and it seemed to be able to reach over 50 degrees! (im not sure how bad that is) considering my friends hdd reaches that temp with no crashing.....

whoever can help me with this problem i would be super happy.... Any ideas at all would be fantastic

Regards Tim

i managed to fix it.... thanks for your help ladies...

for those out there suffering from the same thing, it turned out to be an incompatibility with my comptuer and the wireless security... i changed it from WPA-PSK to WEP and that managed to fix the crashes

regards
