I need some help please.

My i-tunes application and quicktime are FUBAR. I wish to reinstall them from the disc included with my i-pod purchase. However, I will have to un-install the screwed-up programs first and my 'pooter won't let me. I need these problems fixed as I use my i-pod and i-tunes to create teaching materials for the poorly suplied schools here.

I'm a novice user who lives in Kyrgyzstan, Central Asia, so the usual support channels are closed to me. In fact, I will not return to this site as it has taken me just over an hour just to register to leave this post. The internet here is about the slowest I have encountered. If you can help me, please e-mail me at "larryramsbottom at yahoo dot com".

Thank you.

what do you mean by your computer will not let you? what error messages are you getting? have you tried add/remove in the control panel?

Ooooh, I managed to find my way back!

Yes, I use the add/remove program feature to delete programs I don't need any more. For i-tunes, the uninstall wizard begins to load and then stops and goes away as if nothing has happened; no warning, no error notice. Quicktime does have an error notice, but I'll have to go back and look at it again to give you more details.

Thank you for your help. I will try to post more details as I can.

Oh, and yes, I am aware that relying on Microsoft products isn't the wisest thing in the world of computing to do. But my remote location and the availability of programs for Windows here formed a large part of my descision to go that direction, so stop laughing and pity me.
