Explorer pane is blank
In win me when i open explorer the left pane will open but it's completely grayed out except for the little x to close the pane. I don't get a folder tree or anything for that matter.everything on the right side still works fine & when I close the left pane everything is normal. I'm considering re-installing windows but if any one has a simpler suggestion I'd appreciate hearing about it.I think something funky might have happened during a windows update but I'm not sure.Thanx

Hi Southpaw, Welcome to CTH! Try this, Click Start > Run > type regedit and click OK. Click the + next to the following keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Microsoft Internet Explorer Scroll down and click on the Main folder. In the right hand window look for ExplorerBar. right click on this entry and click delete. collapse the registry tree, close regedit and reboot.

What if ExplorerBar isn't there?
I am having the same greyed out folder pane problem, but when I looked in that registry folder, ExplorerBar isn't there!
Wazzup?
